CANDLE MAKING UNIT
Candle manufacturing machines have been installed in the unit which has enabled us to make candles in bulk (120 to 170 candles in one lot) increasing our productivity tremendously. Hearing Impaired and mentally challenged students are getting training to make Diwali candles. Training is also being provided to make gel candles and decorative fancy candles on manual and gel candle moulds. Sale of candles during Diwali and other festivals has been very encouraging. Under supervision, the disabled children are learning to make candles of various types.
WEAVING UNIT
Looms of size 56″ and 48″ have been installed in the unit to make Dusters, Napkins, Khais (thick cotton sheets), Mufflers and Shawls. Mentally challenged and hearing impaired students are being given intensive training to make the products of good quality under supervision to compete with others in the market. Demand of our products especially dusters & khais is increasing day by day.
ENVELOPE MAKING
A heavy duty die cutting machine has been installed wherein special need students are getting training to make stationery envelopes of different sizes, gift envelopes etc. They are trying to make card boards boxes/packing boxes also for marketing of products. We have approached neighbourhood offices, Servants of the people society and parents for getting the orders. We have been getting orders for file covers, envelopes, carry bags.
PAPER RECYCLING UNIT
The machinery has been installed to recycle waste paper by using waste paper and adding cotton waste to give strength to the handmade paper in which students of all the categories of mental retardation and speech and hearing impaired are getting training. In this unit students of lower IQ are also meaningfully occupied to give them positive encouragement and feeling of efficiency to be useful members of the society. As per requirement the paper made in the unit is being supplied to the school to make file covers, report cards, school certificates, carry-bags, gifts and envelopes. Our students also get training in paper conversion skills from zonal multidisciplinary training centre, Gandhi Darshan KVIC Rajghat wherein recycled paper produced in our paper recycling unit was used to make different useful products viz. paper racks, jewellery boxes, beautiful folders and many more items. The products made are comparable with the products available in the market.
BEAUTY CULTURE
A. Beauty Culture unit has been equipped with latest gadgets viz. Ozone therapy equipment, Thermoherb, Head massager, Electric pedicure tub, Hair straightener and various cosmetic items.
B.Girl students (speech and hearing impaired and mentally challenged) are being trained to make them economically independent.
C. DAfter school hours beauty parlour facilities are also extended to school staff and neighbourhood ladies.
DOUSA-HOU CAMP FOR CEREBRAL PALSY & MULTIPLE DISABELD
A two days Dousa-Hou Camp was organized in our School in collaboration with Kyushi University, Japan from 13th to 14th September, 2011. Dousa-Hou is a psychological rehabilitation technique developed by nurses in Japan in 1993 for the patients with cerebral palsy and multiple disablities. Now days, it is being applied for spcial need children including mentally retarded, autistic and other physiological disabilities. Three professors from Kyushu University, Japan – Prof. Harizuka, Prof. Imura and Dr. Surender Sharma were the resource persons for this camp. It was attended by 17 special need children as trainees and 17 trainers including special educators, professionals and parents of disabled children. Gp.Capt. S.C. Bahri, Director of the School welcomed the Japanese guests and all the participants. Shri A.K. Tripathi, Principal of the School graced the occasion.
WEEKLY CLINIC
During the summer vacation in the month of May, weekly clinic is organised for the special need children on every Saturday.
